Smith's fracture - A Smith's fracture, also sometimes known as a reverse Colles' fracture is a fracture of the distal radius caused by falling onto flexed wrists, as opposed to a Colles' fracture which occurs as a result of falling onto wrists in extension. Smith's fractures are usually less common than Colles' fractures.
Basilar skull fracture - A basilar skull fracture (or "Basal skull fracture") is a linear fracture involving the base of the skull. They are rare, occurring as the only fracture in only 4% of severe head injury patients.
Computer hardware - Computer hardware is the physical parts of a computer, as distinguished from the computer software or computer programs and data that operate within the hardware. The hardware of a computer is infrequently changed, in comparison with software and data which are "soft" in the sense that they are readily created, modified or erased on the computer.

Rock Fractures and Fluid Flow: Contemporary Understanding and Applications by Committee on Fracture Characterization, Scientific understanding of fluid flow in rock fractures - a process underlying contemporary earth science problems from the search for petroleum to the controversy over nuclear waste storage - has grown significantly in the past 20 years. This volume presents a comprehensive report on the state of the field, with an interdisciplinary viewpoint, case studies of fracture sites, illustrations, conclusions, clavicle fracture hardware and research recommendations. The book addresses these questions: How can fractures that are significant hydraulic conductors be identified, located, clavicle fracture hardware and characterized? How do flow clavicle fracture hardware and transport occur in fracture systems? How can changes in fracture systems be predicted clavicle fracture hardware and controlled? The committee provides a geomechanical understanding of fracture formation, reviews methods for detecting subsurface fractures, clavicle fracture hardware and looks at the use of hydraulic clavicle fracture hardware and tracer tests to investigate fluid flow. The volume examines the state of conceptual clavicle fracture hardware and mathematical modeling clavicle fracture hardware and provides a useful framework for understanding the complexity of fracture changes that occur during fluid pumping clavicle fracture hardware and other engineering practices.
